The ferrous scrap for export from Ukraine began to fall, as refiners are more profitable to purchase billets in China
During the week the cost of Ukrainian steel scrap 3A species in the Ukrainian seaports decreased by 5-10% and reached the range of $115-120 per 1 ton on the terms of CPT. This is stated in the message Derzhzovnishinform.
In General, steel scrap of Ukrainian origin for export shipments are currently estimated at $138-142 per 1 MT FOB (Black sea). The key market participants report that Turkish importers are mainly located outside the market, reducing the volume of purchases of raw materials to a minimum.
Under these conditions, suppliers are forced to make serious concessions. In turn, the producers successfully replaced in the process the steel scrap on the cheap Chinese billets. The demand for raw materials remains extremely moderate, — said the expert Derzhzovnishinform Vadim Odarenko.
Recall that the Ukrainian enterprises for operations with scrap of ferrous metals in January-September 2015 year increased its exports by 54.3% compared to the same period in 2014 — to 1081,346 thousand t (during the first 9 months of 2014, according to customs, exported 700,958 kt).
According to customs statistics released by the State fiscal service of Ukraine scrap exports in monetary terms increased by 17% to $260,201 million
Exports were primarily to Turkey (79,61%) and Moldova (to 19.18%).
Ukraine in 2014 exported 936,937 thousand tons of ferrous scrap in the amount of $295,191 million, while in 2013 — 255,272 thousand tons of scrap for $79,648 million

US to impose anti-dumping duties on Russian hot rolled steel coil from 16 December

As reported by AMM, the U.S. Department of Commerce sent a letter of notification to Russia with reference to that agreement abolished , and in future will be imposed anti-dumping duties.
As you know, steel of the agreement instead of the earlier restrictions on the import of stalnyh products, set a minimum price.
American iron and steel Institute (AISI) welcomed the decision and noted that the agreement no longer worked.
On the other hand, Severstal, one of the largest steel companies in Russia, claims that there were no objective reasons for this, because the price of hot rolled coil in the US market has actually increased this year, and indicates that it may appeal the decision to protect their interests.
Anti-dumping duties will start applying with December 16, in accordance with the letter from DOC to the Ministry of economic development of Russia.

Loss of metallurgists exceeded 16 billion

Metallurgical industry of Ukraine in January-August increased losses (negative financial result before taxation), compared with January-August 2013 in 2,1 times, or by UAH 8.7 billion to 16.4 billion.
This was reported in the Association of metallurgical enterprises "Metallurgprom".
"The volume of sales in real terms for the period decreased by 11%, while prices for ferrous metals increased on average by 25.3% (in UAH equivalent), which allowed to profit from operating activities in the amount of UAH 5.6 billion. However, due to losses from exchange rate differences (revaluation of foreign currency borrowings and interest thereon) obtained a negative financial result", – is spoken in the message of "metallurgproma".
According to "metallurgproma" net income (proceeds) metpredpriyatiy from sales in 8 months increased by 21.6% and amounted to 115.1 billion UAH.
Significantly increased accounts payable and receivable steelmakers, which as of September 1 amounted to, respectively, 136,9 billion UAH. (+25.1 billion UAH to the same period in 2013) and of 69.8 billion UAH (+UAH 13.5 bn).
As reported, the metallurgical industry of Ukraine in 2013 reduced losses (negative financial result before tax) compared with 2012 increased 22.3% or UAH 3.5 billion – up to UAH 12.2 billion.
Ukraine because of the war fell by one notch in the ranking of steel producers.

Chinese steel exports for the year will exceed 100 million tons

As reported by Reuters, according to the Vice-President of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) Wang Liqun, Chinese steel exports in 2015 will exceed 100 million tons.
Foreign markets ensured the survival of Chinese steel producers struggling with overcapacity and weak domestic demand.
During the first eight months of the year exports reached 71,87 million tons, which is 26,5% higher in annual comparison.
But the growth of exports increases the risk of anti-dumping measures for low-cost Chinese manufacturers and the government has closed loopholes on return of export duties in the beginning of this year.
Gosp. Wang said on the sidelines of an industry conference, that presently the government is considering further adjustments to export duties for steel products.
