As reported by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), us steel production for the week ending on 18 April 2015, was 1,655,000 tons, and production capacity used of 70%. Steel production in the United States for the corresponding week of last year amounted to 1,841,000 tons and the utilization rate of production capacity was equal to 76.6%.
Thus, current production figures showed a decline of 10.1%, compared to the previous year and growth of 2.1% compared to the previous week (1,621,000 tons, 68.6%).
