Railway transportation in Russia in January-April fell by 12.8%

The loading at the network of Russian Railways in January-April 2012 grew by 3.8% compared to the same period last year and amounted 412,9 million tonnes, the company said.
In particular for 4 months transported 4.2 million tons of coke (a decrease of 3.3%), 35.2 million t of iron and manganese ores (a decrease of 0.2%), 25.5 mln t of ferrous metals (1.4%), 4.7 million tons of ferrous metals (a decrease of 12.8%).

Japan reduces exports of scrap metal

In June 2013, significantly reduced the volume of Japanese exports of black scrap, which amounted to 669 thousand tonnes compared to may this year, a drop of export of scrap supply was 14%. Such information was published by the Ministry of Finance of Japan.
More than half of the exports were shipped to South Korea – 366 thousand tonnes, which is below the level in may to 13.7%. China bought 199 thousand tonnes of Japanese scrap (- 5,5%), Vietnam 58 thousand tons (-26,1%).
Total Japanese exports of scrap in the first half of 2013 amounted to 4,764 million tons, which is 16,7% higher than for the same period in 2012.
The Japan's Ministry of Finance predicts that in 2013 the volume of export of scrap from the country will be at 9.53 million tons, according to IMS "metal supply and sales".

In 2013, Ukraine exported iron ore totaling 3 739,10 million dollars, while import in 2013 made up 255.00 million dollars.

Indian importers of scrap of black support price stability

Merchants black scrap in India has not changed the price of the material after a few trades last week were concluded at higher prices, according to market participants. Shredded scrap in containers from Europe and Britain offered at $485-490 per tonne CFR Nhava of Sheba compared to $480-490 per tonne CFR last week. Scrap HMS 1&2 from the UK sold at a price of $458-460 per tonne CFR of Nhava Sheva, said one of the traders.
"Markets in Europe and the UK hold strong positions, and no one offers crushed material at a price below $490 per tonne CFR, since the freight rate is growing," he adds.
