Located on the territory controlled by LNR Luhansk region of Ukraine Alchevsk iron and steel group ISD resumed production. As reported at the enterprise, for the first day since launch, AMC has produced 1,100 tons of iron.
Metallurgical production in Alchevsk began to run on June 6. Today, the AMC operates one blast furnace. The representative of the company announced that it was considering the possibility of starting a second blast furnace until October of this year.
AMK has suspended production in mid-August last year, after the resumption of active hostilities in the region and in connection with impossibility to receive raw materials from the territory of Ukraine, controlled by Kiev.
Because of the continuing shelling, the enterprise was unable to repair the damaged railway infrastructure and supplies of raw materials and export of finished steel products.
About the upcoming resumption of the work of AMK said may 20 at a press-conference in Lugansk, the head LNR Igor Carpentry. The main issue was the agreement with Kiev the delivery of raw materials to the plant.
