Prices for UK stainless steel scrap 18/8 briquettes expand the range as traders are experiencing a material shortage and raise the purchase price, to be able to compete with their European counterparts. The price in the domestic market grew to ?1130-1180 ($1824-1904) per ton, subject to delivery compared to ?1130-1160 per tonne a week earlier. European import prices are €1470-1500 ($1903-1942) per tonne CIF main European port, compared with €1460-1490 per tonne a week earlier. "The market is now not so much material, so we have to pay ?1150 per tonne," said one of the traders.
