Prices on the black scrap in China in the last week declined in weak trade, despite rising international prices. Heavy scrap is sold at 2600-2700 yuan ($411-427) per ton, subject to the delivery, which was 50 yuan per ton lower than a week ago. Manufacturer of long products Shagang has reduced purchase prices for scrap by 50 yuan to about 2670 yuan per ton, subject to the delivery by following trends in the domestic market. "The weakness of the market of finished products does not give chances of growth of prices for scrap," said a source from Shanghai.
