In Russia continues to decline the production of copper wire rod pointing already to the problems in the sector of infrastructure projects
In November, the production of copper wire rod by enterprises in Russia decreased by 11.5% from the previous month. A decreasing trend was seen in August continued in September and November.
For 10 months of the total wire rod production in Russia fell by nearly 6%, which can be attributed to a decrease in cutting production in September this year, and further decline in October and November.
In November, the downward trend is noted especially among independent producers. Enterprises included in vertically integrated copper holdings (JV "Katur-invest", CJSC "KMEZ" and CJSC "NMP"), in November has slightly reduced the volume of production or even increased them.
A decline of 20% or more showed such enterprises as LLC "ElCat" LTD "Netcat", JSC "ROSSKAT and ZAO Transkat".
This trend is not fully explained by the reorientation of enterprises for the export of copper cathodes, but rather says, and the decline in demand in the domestic market, including on wire rod in low price category.
In addition, by the end of October there was a marked decline in exports of copper cathodes (-31%) and copper rod (-13%), which speaks to the tense situation on foreign markets copper products.
