The recovery of the Japanese scrap prices becoming more active after Tokyo Steel has announced the increase of the purchase price for all five of its plants. The company-operator of the largest electric arc furnace in Japan raised the purchase price ?500 ($6) per tonne after increased the price of material for plant in Economia last week. Thus, the company now pays ?24000 per tonne to deliver the material to the plant in Economie, ?23500 per ton of scrap brought in by sea, to plant in Okayama and ?23000 per ton of scrap upon delivery by land, as well as for the plant in Kushu and Takhar, as well ?22000 per ton of scrap for the plant in Takamatsu.
