Kazakhstan extended the ban on the export of scrap metal

Kazakhstan has extended a temporary ban on the export from the territory of the Republic of waste and scrap of ferrous metals, specified in the government resolution of February 19, published on Thursday.
As noted in the text of the document, in order to prevent critical shortages on the domestic market of waste and scrap of ferrous metals the government of the Republic enters a period of two month export ban on waste and scrap of ferrous metals, excluding waste and scrap of alloy steels, including corrosion resistant and other steels.
The same decree the Ministry of economy and budget planning is entrusted in the prescribed manner to inform the Eurasian economic Commission (EEC) on the introduction of the ban, and to submit to the EEC proposals on the application of the measures referred to in this resolution, other state members of the Customs Union.
This decree shall come into force from the day of its first official publication.
As reported, the two-month ban on the export of waste and scrap of ferrous metals of Kazakhstan was implemented in December 2013.
