The combined company (OK) "the Russian aluminium" ( "RUSAL") ceased production of aluminum wire rod on the part of the group of PJSC "Zaporozhye production aluminum combine" (ZALK).
As reported by "Interfax-Ukraine" an informed source in the enterprise, the production of aluminum wire rod in Zalka discontinued since July, although earlier it was supposed to stop production since September.
According to him, currently the furnace is stopped, the part of employees of production line of wire rod, dismissed by agreement of the parties. The rest of the employees received notice of dismissal on October 9, in accordance with the law, informed the relevant information has been brought to the attention of the trade Union Committee.
A spokesman said that of the 230 people working on the line, after the reduction will be 70, they will serve canned production complex, as well as warehousing and administrative offices.
The representative of the company said that ZALK will be formally split into two companies – actually ZALK and a new company "Zaporozhye Aluminum rod" that will not actually produce products.
"In fact, this structure, which will receive Russian wire rod, to kill the tag and send to consumers. Electrical customers are our wire rod is not suitable, but it is used in steelworks as a deoxidizer, they will acquire it," stated the Agency.
The representative Zalka also explained that "RUSAL" has presented the calculations on the feasibility of production of wire rod in Zalka, but in division, it was decided to stop production.
"In the "RUSAL" considered that it was unnecessary production chain and decided to close the production, the furnace stopped", – said the Agency interlocutor.
