Ukrainian railway transportation of ferrous metals in transit over the network "Railways" in January-March 2014 increased by 15% compared to the same period of 2013 and reached to 900 thousand tons, according to the materials of the carrier.
Recall that in I quarter of last year, the transit of ferrous metals decreased by 22%; for the year, a decline of 34%, to 2.27 million tons. The growth of the current year led to the carriage in the direction of the land crossings, "Ukrzaliznytsya"; here, the volume increased 1.9 times and exceeded 200 thousand tons. At the same time, the transit in the direction of the sea ports decreased by 3%, to 620 thousand tons.
The total loading of ferrous metals in the network of "Ukrzaliznytsya" for the quarter rose 3.5%, to 7.6 million tons. Driver was loading for export increased by 9.6%, to 6.1 million tons. At the same time, loading of ferrous metals in domestic traffic decreased by 44% to 1.5 million tons.
