According to statistics, Russian exports of scrap for the 1st quarter increased by 7.1% to 949 tonnes, compared to last year. The most active buyer of Russian scrap in the 1st quarter was Turkey – 442 thousand tons (a decrease of 9.3%), followed by South Korea – 218 thousand tonnes (an increase of 51.9%). In March 2012, Russian exports of scrap amounted to 263 thousand tons, higher than last year by 16%, including 124 THD. MT in Turkey and 45 kt in South Korea.
