The total number of thefts in 2014 compared to 2013 decreased by 13% and amounted to 6,679 thousand cases.
In particular, the number of thefts of non-ferrous metals decreased by 20%, parts of the permanent way by 12%, ferrous metals and scrap by 22%.
For committing theft detained 7,039 thousand. On the facts of these offences were instituted 2,081 thousand criminal case, 627 people prosecuted in court sentences.
