Black scrap for South-East Asia went up by $30 per ton over the last two weeks in conditions of a shortage of supply. Suggestions of material HMS 1&2 (80:20) in containers from Europe and the United States amounted to $455-460 per tonne CFR this week, compared to $425-430 per tonne CFR two weeks ago, sources in the region. Prices on large quantities of material also rose to $475-490 per ton CFR compared to $440-450 per tonne CFR two weeks ago.
"Supplies are now in short supply, and purchase material from the United States and Europe in the winter is much harder," said a trader from Singapore.
