As reported Yieh.com according to the Brazilian Steel Institute (IABr), Brazilian steel exports in 2015 reached a record level and amounted to 13.7 million tons. This figure is 40.3% higher than 2014 levels.
However, despite such a high tonnage, the value of exports for 2015 declined by 3.3% year-on-year, or up to $6.6 million.
During this same period, domestic sales of steel in Brazil fell by 16.1% in annual comparison to 6.2 million tons.
