The production of steel without semi-finished products obtained by continuous casting in Ukraine in February 2014 compared with February 2013 decreased by 16.5% and amounted to 1 million 053 thousand tons according to the State statistics service (gosstat).
In comparison with the previous month steel production rose 2.4%.
Steel production for 2 months of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 decreased by 19% and amounted to 2 million 082 thousand.
Manufacture of semi-finished products obtained by continuous casting, in February 2014 to February 2013 decreased by 7.7% in January 2014, also 7.7%, to 1 million 341 thousand tons For Jan-Feb 2014, production amounted to 2 million 795 thousand tons, a decrease of 4.8% compared to the same period last year.
Pig iron production for the year decreased by 2.7% for the month of 6% and amounted to 2.2 million tons For 2 months 2014, the production of pig iron amounted to 4 million 539 thousand tons, down by 4.6%.
Production of rolled ferrous metals in February 2014 compared with February 2013 decreased by 17.4% up to 1 million 159 thousand tons (-8,9% in comparison with January. For January-February production decreased by 16.4% to 2 million 431 thousand tons.
Manufacture of tubes, pipes and hollow profiles for the year decreased by 17.2% for the month rose by 29.2% and amounted to 124 thousand tons For 2 months, their production has decreased by 14% to 219 thousand tons.
