Apparent consumption of finished steel products in Turkey in January-March 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 increased by 1.5%. This is evidenced by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers’ Association, reports Yieh.Corp.
In particular, the consumption of the metal in the country in this period reached of 7.16 million tons. Consumption of flat steel products amounted to 3.7 million tons and long products of 3.45 million tons.
Earlier it was reported that Turkey in January-March 2014 compared to the same period in 2013 reduced revenue from exports of steel by 11.3%. In particular, revenues from foreign supplies of Turkish metal was 2.49 billion dollars.
Recall that the volume of steel production in Turkey in January-March 2014 compared to the same period 2013 declined by 0.5%. In particular, the smelting of the metal in the country in a given period was 8.43 million tons.
