Prior to that, for six months, the scrap exports from the country were not carried out.
Ukrainian companies in transactions with ferrous scrap in September 2013, the third consecutive month has been exporting scrap metal, putting the party in Turkey and Moldova, writes the portal BUSINESS. According to customs statistics, promulgated by the Ministry of revenue and duties of Ukraine, in July-September and overall for the first nine months of this year exported 130,328 thousand tons of scrap in real terms (in January-September 2012 — 366,340 kt) in the amount of $40,691 million ($153,054 million).
From November 2012 to June 2013 export of scrap metal from Ukraine was carried out.
While in the first nine months of 2013 import of metal scrap in the country increased in real terms by 2.4 times — up to 159,774 thousand tons, in money — by 59.7%, to $61,313 thousand Imports were mainly from Kazakhstan.
For all of last year, Ukrainian exports of scrap metal was 366,542 kt — 54.3% less than in 2011 (801,781 kt). In monetary terms, the export of scrap metal during this period decreased by 52.2 per cent to $153,138 million (2011 — $320,245 million).
